New Members Welcome!

The Berkeley Hiking Club was created in 1924. It includes people interested in hiking in beautiful settings in the Bay Area.
SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL HIKING OUTINGS

Club members organize outings in the spring, summer and fall. Spring and fall outings are held over a long weekend; summer outings are a week long, typically at the end of July. Past outings have been held at: Pinnacles National Monument, Big Sur, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, Lake Tahoe, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and other places in Northern California.

Members arrange their own transportation and accommodations, suggestions are always provided. During the outings, there is a late afternoon social hour potluck, and members are expected to assist with set up and clean up. Members are also responsible for their readiness and ability to do the hikes without assistance and at a reasonable pace. Various guided hike options (mini, midi and maxi hikes) are available everyday. A list of outing participants is provided to those attending.
